Privacy
TipMath has no accounts, no sign-up and no database. The calculators run entirely in your browser.
Stored on your device
To save you retyping, TipMath keeps a few things in your browser's localStorage: your preferred tip percentage and currency, your last 10 calculations, your itemized split and your tip-pool team list. This data never leaves your device. Clear it any time:
Share links
"Share result" puts the bill, tip, number of people and rounding into the link itself. Anyone with the link can see those numbers; nothing is saved on our side.
AI features
Two optional features use AI through Vercel AI Gateway: the receipt scan on the split bill calculator and the "Ask" box on the tipping guides. Only when you use them, the receipt photo (shrunk in your browser) or your question is sent to the AI model to produce an answer. We don't store the photo or the question. Avoid photographing card numbers or personal details.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and doesn't track you across sites.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard request logs (such as IP address) to serve pages and protect against abuse.
